How to apply for membership

Membership applications are considered by the ARCISS Executive Committee.
The Committee must be satisfied that your research centre

  • undertakes research to high scientific standards
  • is not controlled by a commercial or government organisation
  • is non-profit making - whether a charitable trust, a charitable company or a discrete institute or centre within a university
  • normally employs 5 or more full-time equivalent staff ( though exceptions to this requirement may be admitted in exceptional circumstances).

Applicants are asked to submit evidence on these matters - such as a recent Annual Report or brochure.

Membership of ARCISS is granted to two persons in each centre - the Director and the Senior Administrator. But other employees - both researchers and administrative support staff - are welcome to participate in ARCISS activities.

The annual subscriptions for 2009 are as follows

  • 5-20 fte employees £130
  • 21-30 fte employees £250
  • 31-40 fte employees £320
  • 40 plus fte employees £390

The subscription of new members joining during the rest of 2008 will run until renewal in January 2009. If you wish to apply please complete the separate application form. A PDF version of the application form can be downloaded below. Acrobat Reader is required to view PDF files.
